A new day for pilgrims (and South Africa) - Part 2

This evening we dined at the home of Donald and Liziwe Qubeka. Nestled in the township of Gugulethu, Liziwe's Guest House (http://www.liziwes-bed-and-breakfast.com/) occupies a place where the history of forced black African relocation, minimal government services, poverty and crime is confronted in the guise of a generous family, a dogged hopefulness, and great food and music. The photos show something of the hospitality we experienced, and the fine fare we enjoyed. The band and dancers provided a festive touch to an already lovely yet challenging day.

Friday begins with a group gathering with Bishop Garth Counsell of the Diocese of Cape Town. After that, pigrims are taking the day to rest, shop, visit a winery or two, or whatever.

Thank you for your prayers and messages. Keep them coming!
